For 28 years, Howqua Dale operated as one of Australia’s premium Gourmet Retreats and Cooking School. They are now pleased to open their doors on a more casual basis to happy travellers choosing to stay at RIVERHOUSE at Howqua Dale. A scenic two and half hours drive from Melbourne into the serenity of Howqua Dale and the surrounding hills. A perfect place for an overnight stop if driving between Melbourne and Sydney, or vice versa and only 40 minutes from skiing at Mount Buller.

Imagine the landscape of a Streeton painting combined with the comfort of a beautiful country house… RIVERHOUSE at Howqua Dale is available on a self contained or B&B basis. Howqua Dale is probably best used by a group of friends for the weekend or longer. Exclusive use of RIVERHOUSE can be provided for a max of 12 guests on a self contained basis.

There are two beautiful houses set in the riverside location featuring 6 individually decorated ensuite rooms with garden access, 2 seperate lounge areas and a fully equipped self catering kitchen.  There is 24 hour reception, breakfast provisions available for self-cooking, CD player, VCR, tea/coffee making facilities, internet access, linen supplied, log fires, pool and tennis courts.

In addition to the beautiful gardens, nearby there are wonderful walks, drives, gentle river banks for picnics, ski fields, fly fishing, horse riding, wineries and good restaurants and cafes. The property has so much charm and privacy, you may wish to just enjoy the open fire, music, and reading.
