Soumah of Yarra Valley

The name Soumah is born from the location of the vineyard – South of Maroondah (SOUMAH) – in the Yarra Valley ‘dress circle’ of Gruyere near Coldstream.

The vineyard is located on the Warramate Foothills overlooking the valley floor below. A cool climate, the best varietal clones, closer planted vines and low yields results in superior quality grapes. These are then hand fashioned into elegant styled wines, rich in flavour length and savoury complexity.

Soumah have become known for both the traditional favourites of the Yarra Valley, including their Chardonnay winning two Trophies at the Royal Sydney Show in 2015, and their Pinot Noir selling out every year and being served in QANTAS business class.

However Soumah have been focusing their new wines on varieties from Northern Italy and have some very interesting varieties including Brachetto, Savarro, Pinot Grigio, Ai Fiori and Nebbiolo. These Italian varieties match with their Trattoria which has a Northern Italian styled menu.
