Raidis Estate

Family owned and operated, Raidis Estate is Coonawarra’s new ‘kid’ in wine.  The Raidis family has a hands on approach to wine production and are actively involved in all stages of the process.  To achieve superior quality wines, their vines are hand pruned, receive minimal irrigation and are low yielding.  The grapes are then hand picked in vintage, using only the finest fruit.

Open 7 days a week, 12.00 – 6.00pm or by appointment, Raidis Estate cellar door is situated on the northern edge of Penola, in the heart of the Coonawarra region and within walking distance of the town centre.  The wine list may not be long, but it includes four very impressive wines – a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Riesling, a Pinot Gris and a fresh Sauvignon Blanc.

The ‘Billy’ Cabernet Sauvignon is the product of the Home Block, consisting of 15 year old vines on prime terra rossa soil in the heart of the Coonawarra wine region.  Extended maturation in French Oak for 18 months ensures that this basket-pressed wine is ready to enjoy now.

The ‘The Kid’ Riesling is from the Southern Block in Coonawarra where they produce outstanding white wines. This wine is no exception to the rule, and the strong fruit flavours are supported by just a hint of acid. Fresh and refined now, this wine is ready to drink, but will develop further for up to ten years.

The Raidis Estate wines have been created for you to enjoy with good food and good friends. Drop in and catch up with Steven or Emma for a tasting, and you might even meet Billy the goat who was the inspiration for the original Cabernet Sauvignon.
