Huntington Estate

For over 40 years, Huntington Estate has been producing consistently remarkable wine. They are not subject to changing fashions or trends. Their wines are designed for aging; they are traditional, rustic and well respected. There are 24 separate varietal blocks within the 40 hectares of the Huntington Estate vineyard.

Huntington Estate produces wines that are unashamedly traditional in style. Mudgee red wines, and Huntington Estate in particular, have more structure than most in Australia. They show very fine tannin with the mid-palate, only fully emerging after they are bottle-aged. This means they are made to age for perhaps a decade or more. These reds come from very low yields and are all aged in small oak barrels and held in the cellars until released at 5 years of age.

The Huntington Estate Barrel Fermented Chardonnay is equally age-worthy, but is also traditional in style. It shows broader characters than more modern Australian examples, but is full of flavour and softness. The Semillon wine from Huntington Estate is a landmark one, being more fruity and full than most when young, without the overpowering acid that many modern styles exhibit. However history has shown it ages very well indeed.  The Four Seasons range is hugely popular with our customers on the mailing list and at the cellar door.
