Capercaillie Wines

Price: Wines from $25

The Capercaillie Wine Company was established in the Hunter Valley by Alasdair Sutherland in late 1995, when he built a small, modern winery on an excellent 20 year old vineyard.  Alasdair is Scottish and his heritage is reflected in the very name ‘Capercaillie’, as it is the Gaelic name given to the black woodlands grouse, native to the pine forests of Scotland.

To enhance their already extensive range of individual Hunter Valley wines, Capercaillie has chosen top quality parcels of grapes from other proven regions of Australia.  This creates exciting multi-area blends which highlight climatic and varietal differences. Wine production capped at 5000 cases a year, ensures the highest quality standards.

Since Capercaillie was established, the winery has built a firm customer base in the domestic and export markets and has gained a reputation as a quality producer with many award winning wines.

Connoisseur Club Members are welcome for 20% off wine purchases.
