Sydney Eco Whale Watching

Sydney Eco Whale Watching has been running Eco Whale Watching Tours from Sydney Harbour since year 2000. Their yacht “Katrina” provides a luxurious, mobile platform to take you to the best vantage point to see these wonderful, awe-inspiring creatures. Whilst the tour is primarily for seeing whales, you may also see dolphins, penguins, seals and ocean birds. Tours run during winter and spring when the whales migrate.

The personalised, four hour eco-tour caters for only a small number of passengers at a time. There are no pushing crowds and lots of personal attention, which make this a powerful, spiritual experience for each guest. Every year, between late May until late November, about 15,0000 whales migrate along the Australian coastline to their feeding and breeding grounds. Sydney is in a very fortunate position to see the whales on both the winter migration northwards (late May until August) and the spring migration southwards (September until November). As a part of their migratory path, many Humpbacks and Southern Right Whales swim very close to the coastline around Sydney.

Awesome whale behaviour is actually quite common and is seen every year by visiting whale enthusiasts in Australia. Remember, however, that whales are wild animals and may exhibit very few or many of these behaviours. Sydney Eco Whale Watching practices responsible whale watching following the NSW Maritime & NSW National Parks & Wildlife Guidelines. They understand that they need to minimise disturbance to the whales to protect the animals and their environment.
