Wild Life Sydney Zoo

Wild Life Sydney Zoo takes you on an Australian animal adventure in the heart of the city at Darling Harbour. Along the way you’ll encounter some of the world’s most exciting animals, including cute koalas, daring Tasmanian devils, beautiful birds, deadly snakes and much, much more.

The zoo is divided into different habitat zones, each showcasing animals unique to that region of Australia.

Kangaroo Walk-About showcases Eastern Grey kangaroos, a quokka, agile wallabies, echidnas and princess parrots, as well as being the stage for the interactive ‘Aussie Animal Encounters’ show.

Take a trip to the top end with the Butterfly Tropics zone, where you will be amazed at the diverse range of animals living in the carefully-created tropical habitat, from butterflies flitting through lush ferns and palms to vividly coloured pythons, sunning themselves amongst the vines and slithering through the thick undergrowth. And, it wouldn’t be the Top End without our fresh water crocodile lazing about by the pool!

Devil’s Den is home to Topsy and Bub the Tasmanian Devils. Topsy and Bub serve as ambassadors to their species that are critically endangered.

Nothing says ‘Australia’ like the distinctive eucalyptus smell of gum trees found in the Gum Tree Valley zone. You can find these trees all along Australia’s East Coast, and especially here in New South Wales, and they are home to the famous koalas.

You will also find zones dedicated to the Daintree Rainforest, Kakadu and a cliff area for wallabies. The special “Nightfall” habitat showcases the weird and wonderful nocturnal animals that venture out after dark.
