It could be said that no trip to Sydney is complete without visiting Sea Life Sydney Aquarium. Situated on the city side of Darling Harbour, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium houses over 12,000 animals from 650 species, including sharks, dugongs, turtles, stingrays, penguins, tropical fish and much, much more.

Sea Life Sydney Aquarium takes you on an underwater journey through Australia’s unique freshwater and marine environments with 11 different habitat zones.

Experience the world’s first ride-through penguin expedition! An immersive experience allowing you to get up close and personal to a spectacular colony of King and Gentoo penguins during a sensory and educational sub-Antarctic boat journey! Or face your fears on the Shark Walk and walk over some of the world’s biggest aquarium sharks, including Lemon and Grey Nurse Sharks, before journeying deep under the sea and exploring the depths of Shark Valley. When journeying through the parallel underwater tunnels you’ll also come across the huge Queensland Groper – a fish even the sharks are scared of!

Visit the massive Great Barrier Reef Oceanarium, the largest in the world – just like the Great Barrier Reef itself. It includes the stunning Reef Theatre, a huge floor-to-ceiling window into the reef. Take a seat, kick back and watch the show as hundreds of fish, sharks and sawfish cruise the reef before your eyes. Kids will enjoy the Art Aquarium, an interactive experience to help inspire and educate kids about the importance of sustainable seas. Draw your own fish, scan it into the machine and then watch it swim through the virtual tank which spans over 10 metres wide along the wall!
