Paxton Wines

Established in 1979, Paxton is a family owned McLaren Vale wine company. The Paxton family have nurtured their own vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia, for three decades. This area is internationally recognised as one of Australia’s leading wine regions and McLaren Vale is renowned for the production of super premium quality wines – particularly red wines.

The Paxton wine range is an approachable collection of wines that showcases McLaren Vale’s fruit quality, natural diversity and varietal expression. In the winery, minimal winemaking intervention ensures the integrity of the fruit from vineyard to bottle.

The home of Paxton Wines is historic Landcross Farm, located at the gateway to McLaren Vale. The property is an historically significant 1840s sheep and wheat farm, which encompasses a site dotted with original limestone and pug buildings. Traces of the original road to Willunga are still evident around the Farm and provide a fascinating window into the early days of the colony.

The Cellar Door has commanding views to be enjoyed over the valleys and Willunga Hills. The Paxton packaging reflects the traditional Wool Bale stencil originally used at Landcross Farm for the branding and grading of wool. The tasting room is located in the original shearing shed and the grounds surrounding it have been landscaped and developed in sympathy with the heritage of the property.
