Description
The Frewer family established the Jones Road Vineyard in 1997, at Somerville on the Mornington Peninsula overlooking Westernport Bay. The maritime climate of this region produces some of Australia’s best cool climate wines because of the late ripening, the fertile soil and careful vineyard management.
Winemaking at Jones Road starts in the vineyard. Careful management of yields and hand picking ensure the grapes reach the winery in premium condition. The vineyard owner and manager have nurtured the vines since planting and always take a hands-on approach throughout the year, especially at vintage when timing is critical.
Jones Road has a cellar door with a difference, in a converted piggery! Wine tasting at Jones Road is not just about sampling their wines, it is an experience. Sharing stories, learning about viticulture, wine-making, marketing and their philosophy about what they are trying to achieve. The cellar door is the only place where you can taste the whole range of Jones Road wines.
