Price: Wines from 26,04€

The Golden Ball is located in an area as rich in history as it once was in gold. It was the first piece of Crown Land sold off by the Government in the Everton Parish in 1857. Over the years The Golden Ball has changed hands on many occasions, but has always maintained an important historical significance to the area. The three stone rooms from the original hotel still form the centre of the current residence.

Having been purchased by the McLaurin family in 1980, the grape vines were planted in 1996. The seven acres of vineyard consists of Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small portion set aside for Malbec. The low yields and granitic soil deliver an intensity of flavour to the wines. They are most noted for their flagship wine the “Gallice”, which is a Cabernet Sauvignon that is blended with some Merlot and Malbec. The entire process from harvest, right through to the bottling, is performed entirely at the Golden Ball property.

Golden Ball wines are available from a number of restaurants and retailers around the country; see the Golden Ball website for a full list of stockists.
