Hurstbridge Post Office Cafe

Price: Mains from $15

A warm, friendly atmosphere found in leafy Hurstbridge on the outskirts of Melbourne, the Post Office Cafe offers a welcome chance to relax with friends and family.

The Hurstbridge Post Office Cafe building was originally built in 1918 for Robert Harris who was the owner, editor and printer of the Evelyn Observer. It was the second office of that influential newspaper, the first being in Kangaroo Creek Ground. The building continued to be occupied by the printers G. Armstrong and then later Decimus Matt until 1932, when it was converted for use as a Post Office and the residence was added. The heritage-listed Post Office Cafe is number 12 on the Hurstbridge Heritage Trail.

Brothers Fab and Adrian Aparo purchased the Cafe together in 2006, after long careers in cafes and restaurants across Melbourne. Together with their families, they have built the cafe into a warm, family meeting place for the entire community.

The Cafe offers a great range of food for breakfast and lunch, as well as dinner on Friday nights. There is a good selection of popular wine, beer and spirits also available.

The Post Office Cafe caters for everything from a sit down dinner to birthdays to entire wedding celebrations and their dedicated staff are there to make sure you have a wonderful experience.

Connoisseur Club Members welcome for 25% off the total bill, to a maximum of $25. Not valid on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.
